The Villaggio red is a blend, primarily from Cabernet Sauvignon with components of Merlot and Chardonnay grown on the Estate vineyard in Forest Grove. The Villaggio range is a salute to the European ‘Village’ wines that offer tremendous value for money. A wine for weeknights, long table dinners and when friends drop by.

The nose displays a mix of blue and black fruits – blackcurrant, blackberry and blueberry with underlying seasoned French oak. A fruit forward Cabernet Sauvignon driven blend that exhibits fleshy tannins, black fruit - blackberry, blackcurrant and blueberry. The flavours are well supported by spicy, seasoned French oak characters and a savoury complexity.

Variety: 70% Cabernet Sauvignon, 20% Merlot, 10% Chardonnay

Alcohol: 13.5 %

Maturation: Components of the final blend were harvested, fermented and aged separately. The red components were left on skins for 15 days and plunged down twice daily to build palate weight and structure. The wine was aged in seasoned French oak for 10 months.
